About Us
Junior Trials Mini Cycle Club is situated just off the corner of Pacific Highway and Kanangra Drive, Gwandalan. Turn at the traffic lights into Kanangra Drive and turn right into the club driveway. You can't miss our sign at our entrance.
JTMCC is run by parents for their kids. Over the years many members have developed and improved the club grounds and facilities by attending working bees and having an active interest in the club.
To be able to run our days it is a requirement for parents or gaurdians to be activley involved in running the numerous events conducted at the club. We need in excess of Seventy parents to successfully run a club day!
Our club has facilities where children, starting as young as 4 years of age, can ride legally, under supervision, in a safe and controlled environment. This is ideal to achieve exceptional control of a motorcycle, especially for beginners because the emphasis is on skill development, which includes balance, weight transfer, throttle control and braking. For everyones safety bikes and riding gear are scrutineered each ride day.
The long-term benefits of this include the development of responsible attitudes to Motor Sport and the use of public roads. Children can learn discipline, riding skills, responsible attitudes and they can also make many friends.
Risk Management and Safety
Minikhana is controlled by the rules set out by Motorcycling Australia (MA). MA has established rules of operation for the sport. Those rules operate under the same umbrella as does any other form of motorcycling competition in Australia.
Officials are required to undertake formal training with MA to ensure they are equipped with the correct skills to determine that the motorcycles, the venue and the conduct of events comply with the guidelines that have been established to provide for a safe and fair environment for the children to learn in.
The club and sport also undertake risk management activities to ensure that the risks are appropriately dealt with before they have a negative impact.
The venue, tracks and event areas inspected and licensed Annually by Department of Sport and Recreation in conjunction with MNSW officials and NSW Police.
Rules
Motorcycling can be dangerous. As such the club ensures that we have the appropriate accredited officials to oversee the safe running of our days under the rules and regulations of MNSW and MA
All riding and competition is conducted as per the General Competition Rules as set out by Motorcycling Australia.
Riders must be licensed by Motorcycling NSW (MNSW) to compete or under permit to train. Licences can only be obtained after successfully completing a training program and a written test.
Bikes and safety gear must be subject to scrutineering prior to competition.
All riders must have their own bikes as the Club does not hire bikes.
Riders must attend riders briefing prior to competition
All tracks and event areas are fenced. Only licensed competitors and officials are allowed within fenced areas.
All our days are run under permit from MNSW, a mandatory requirement for every competition or practice event and working bees held at our grounds.
St Johns Ambulance is also in attendance for all our ride days. (competition and practice)
